Wednesday, December 22, 2004Inclusive Church Ok, I admit I was there!!! Talking to guy I know from Middlesborough by the look of it who happened to be staying with a friend of his called Dave Tomlinson... I can see that Liz's comment was a search for some feedback from the conference, which i really should provide!! Initial ones: - Really cool to have wifi during the conference - those pews were VERY Uncomfortable - Nice to see some guys from KBCTC there - Nice to see some guys form St Giles there - Brian McLaren, Steve Chalke, Jason Clarke, Doug Pagitt, Mark Greene are all great guys! I think maybe you are looking for more detail ... Posted by: Mark | 1:45 pm |

Monday, December 13, 2004Do you have the vision to shape a better world? "We are looking for 6 visionaries who can make the world - or part of it - more just and more peaceful. Are you one? Do you know one?" Just thought i'd mention it in case that was you. If it is then you could get a 5 year salary to deliver it. Here are some great quotes to inspire you: Be the change you want to see in the world Gandhi They say my work is just a drop in the ocean. I say the ocean is made up of drops. Mother Theresa We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give Winston Churchill If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost, that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. Thoreau Vision is the art of seeing the invisible Swift Posted by: Mark | 2:01 pm |
Friday, December 10, 2004An alternative christmas gift We decided this week that in our Home Church that our christmas gifts to each other would be of this form - a gift to someone else who really needs it. So we are gonna club together and send a gift. I got some abuse for wanting to do something that would get a certificate!! As i type that i can see why - it sounds very dodgy! However what I really meant was that churcking some coins in an envelope doesn't sound like much of a gift, it seemed to me that even the opportunity to focus on something (anything) as a result of the gift will make it more personal and meaningful. Or am I expeecting too much in expecting gift-giving to be meaningful? Posted by: Mark | 11:00 am |
Thursday, December 09, 2004Beautiful Feet Here it is for all to see: a song from Ashley Rowthorn's Band "Beautiful Feet". The song is called Headstrong. I have dutifully downloaded it at Amber's request. And actually I quite like, no actually it is pretty good!! Well done guys!! I think everyone should download it! And no it is not just because they are borrowing some of the church microphones!! Posted by: Mark | 4:56 pm |
