![]() Distinct lack of blogging recently has meant I have not posted about this Christmas film event. Very slack, sorry! Not that I have now seen it or anything, but the event is worth comment. It is clear that this is a Christmas film [in the world where it is always winter but not Christmas] and no doubt will remain so for years to come. Discussions are raging about to what extent this is a Christian Story being told. With people from both sides of the fence fighting to make the film their own. I always loved the stories, although I do remember finding them scary. With the current enthusiasm for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and the Harry Potter series and now Narnia I have been thinking recently "what is the role of Fantasy". I think it feeds our imaginations with images that aren't real, which enable the telling of stories which begin to help us make sense of our world and imagine new possibilities.
