Wednesday, August 09, 2006Holiday Club
Last week was a fun if exhausting week [and I was only there for 3 of the 5 days!]. We ran a holiday club with NAYC in the Arbours school. It was a great time. Well run by Rhoda and the rest of the NAYC bunch. It was great to meet them all as well. It was great to get to know the kids better too =- it is so nice after a week like that when a child leaves in tears - because they didn't want to leave... The topic was "superhero's". The reason for this post is mainly to show some amazing custume efforts by Michelle and Rhoda - fantastic! The last day was 'come as a superhero' day. If i remember rightly Rhoda was "super sombrero" and Michelle was "Super haircut girl" [or something like that!]. love it! Labels: jfc Posted by: Mark | 1:18 pm |
Tuesday, August 08, 2006A New Innovation
Last Sunday was our CCN Family meeting at Parklands Community Centre. It was a great morning. Really fun to have some guests come along. And really great to be able to invite Pete Wiliams back [in fact Pete AND Mirriam ;o)]. I asked Pete to speak about "God's Heart for the Nations", which he did admirably. Our particular innovation was to use Audacity to record the preach, and be able to save it as an MP3. Aren't we cool?!?! If you want to listen download here: Pete Williams: God's Heart for the Nations [4.3 MB]. Posted by: Mark | 2:40 pm |
Weddings
Last Saturday was a bit of a wedding fest. Rhoda was at Michaels wedding in Northampton. Simon promised that there were many embarrassing photo's to be used, even from the holiday club. The Whites were at Julie and Ian's in Liverpool. I haven't heard about that one yet, but I am sure it was great - a shame not to be there. And we, the Norridge's, were at Sammi and Phil's in Southampton. It was a great wedding. A Fantastic celebration. Sammi's dad and mum run a pub so the reception was there with marquee, hog roast, free flowing refreshments, great band, sumo suits, amazing salads, loads of other grilled meat, fantastic olives, and a 1904 De Dion to take them around. Great fun ;o). Posted by: Mark | 1:22 pm |
